The PADI Discover Scuba Diving course (DSD) New Way Diving Koh Tao gives beginners a chance to try scuba diving without having to commit to the Open Water Course. Your instructor will give you some basic scuba diving theory, teach you some basic skills and escort you on an underwater tour to a maximum depth of 12 meters.
If you like it you can do an additional dive on the same trip for only 700 THB more, if you love it (and many people do) you can count this experience towards your PADI Open Water License.
The New Way Discover Scuba Diving experience usually takes place every afternoon, with the below schedule when possible;
Complete course paperwork and prepare your Scuba Diving Equipment.
Basic Theory overview and orientation to the afternoon’s proceedings.
It’s time to head out diving! At a shallow site your instructor will help you into your dive gear and show you how it works. We then enter the water and swim to the beach to complete some basic scuba diving skills in water deep enough to stand up in, followed by a dive to a maximum of 12m and for roughly 45 minutes.
This is followed by roughly 1 hour on the boat enjoying complimentary Tea, Coffee, Water, fruit & biscuits while we change dive sites, and your instructor will check if you would like to complete a second dive of 45 minutes to a depth of 12m.
WARNING – diving starts to get addictive now….since there are no skills to complete, and the first dive has already been done, most people are more relaxed and so notice more marine life..
If you enjoyed your experience you can apply full credit from this to the PADI Open Water Course, which will then allow you to dive around the world to a depth of 18m. To do this you ONLY pay the remaining amount between the cost of our PADI Open Water course and the money you already paid for your PADI Discover Scuba Diving course.
